Overview
kalamless is a fast, funny charades game for family and friends — in Arabic and English. No pen, no paper, no setup. One player acts out a word while their team shouts guesses before the timer runs out, then the phone gets passed around. It's built for game nights, road trips, and gatherings.
We designed and built the entire product ourselves — the game design and word content, the interface and motion, the sounds and haptics, and the multiplayer backend.
The challenge
Most party games treat Arabic as an afterthought. kalamless is fully bilingual — players can switch between Arabic and English at any time, with big, colorful, easy-to-read cards designed to work beautifully in both directions.
It's also private by design: no accounts, no sign-up, no ads, and no analytics or third-party trackers. Preferences stay on the device, and multiplayer runs through a lightweight relay that passes messages between phones without storing anything.
Under the hood
kalamless is built with React Native and Expo, so a single codebase ships to iOS, Android, and the web. Gameplay stays fluid with native sound, haptics, and confetti, and a fingerprinted update pipeline lets us push fixes fast.
For playing together in a room, devices connect to a small real-time relay we operate — think of it as a switchboard that forwards game moves between players and keeps no record once the room ends.
